Jerzey Fischer Fine Art-Urban Surrealism

I've always appreciated this quote, in that I could relate to it with regard to my own work.  For Frost, a poem shapes itself as you write it.  He didn't know exactly what he was going to write, but rather a direction to head in, and what formed was the finished work.  For me, as an artists I've always tried to capture this improvisational energy in my work.  As a result, my artwork often takes an abstract, psychedelic turn.  My paintings have been labeled by some as "graffiti" surrealism.   I just paint and the power to improvise takes over creating the music in my mind, but on canvas.  From there it is for you the viewer to determine what it is you are looking at, very similar to the inkblots used by phycologists; you get out of it whatever your mind lets you see.  Like jazz music I pick an emotion, or key, if you will, to play in and the result is the work you see in my galleries.  It's this improvisational energy that I strive for while working, you feel close to God when you tap into that force that drives original creation, things unseen by anyone but you  and your mind until you bring it into reality.   This is not to say that all of the work shown here is meant to be ambiguous in imagery, but rather that they have no set direction even if in the end the work becomes representational.  You will also find that in many of my earlier works, particularly in the "Vintage" gallery, there are a few works that are very figurative and representational in a direct rather than implied way.  Though, these pieces represent an earlier phase in my development, when viewed in the context of my entire portfolio, you can see them as steps in my progression.

Thank you for stopping by my site, all of the works seen will be available for sale or in prints unless otherwise indicated.  All works on paper will be shipped framed and matted, with plexiglass rather than glass to cover (safer shipping). You can contact me for information regarding any work you like.  Check out my links page for print info (coming soon).  Additionally, there will be a newsletter and blog post on this very site so check me out and see what I'm working on or doing.  I lead an exciting life.
